DEXTROSE
MONOHYDRATE : |
| The starch slury is
adjusted to 6.0 Ph. and treated with (alpha) Amylase
enzyme and jet cooked, liquified to achieve liquid syrup
having no starch. The syrup is then treated with
activated carbon for decolourisation and deashing is done
to remove ash from syrup.
Deashed
Syrup is concentrated in evaporation system to a
concentration of 76 % DS cooled and crystallized in batch
or continuous crystallizer.
Crystallized
mececutes are centrifiged to get wet DMH crystalls which
is further dried in Flash dryer / Rotary dryer or Fluid
bed dryer where as Hydrol is recycled back after refining
to recovered maximum DMH. Dry powder is sieved and
packed.
The DMH has
industrial application in syrup base as pharma product
and fermentation process for alcohol and medicenes.

AHHYDROUS
DEXTROSE :

The DMH crystall wet is
deasolved, refined, evaporated, hot crystalled,
centrifuged, dried and sieved to get Anhydrous form of
Dextrose to be used in IV fluid for Glucose saline which
is used in medicene.

- LIQUID
GLUCOSE :
The acidified starch slurry
to be treated at 145oC,
cooled neutralised and floculation is done to remove
fats.
The syrup
is treated with activated carbon and filter aid to remove
colour and demineralised to remove ash content.
The
demineralised syrup is then concentrated to a desired
concentration as per market demand up to 86% DS.
The 86% DS
syrup is used in confectionery and other sweetening
agent.

| FLOW SHEET FOR LIQUID GLUCOSE : |

- MALTO DEXTRIN :
Starch slurry of 0.4 % DS
protein and 0.05 % DS oil max will be collected in a Tank
from time to time and adjust Ph. to 6.00 before adding
liquification enzyme ( Alpha amylose or equivalant).
After through mixing, slurry is fed to jet cooker,
followed by retention and liquification coil at a
temperature of 110oC
and see the hydrolysis is complete and De is controlled
to 20 or 25 De as may be required. Excess enzyme if any
may be killed by acidifying it so that no further
hydrolysis may occur. During these process please check
that there is no sign of starch being unhydrolysed. Then
these slurry is filtered off in filter press to remove
suspended solids of protein and other matters with the
help of filter aid and carbon. Once again, the slurry or
clear liquid may be treated with carbon & filter aid
to decolourise the syrup. Then cooled to pass through
demineraliser to remove Ash content of the juice and
concentrated in multi effect evaporator to a level of 60
% - 65 % DS and spray dried sieved and packed.

- USAGE :
It is used in baby food and also in confectionery like
chocolets for low calory brand. Syrup is used in low
calory soft drinks as sweetners.
